Rachel Mauser is a bookbinder and printmaker living and working in Louisville, Kentucky. She is co-founder and Program Director of the Steam Exchange community arts organization in the Smoketown neighborhood of Louisville. At the Steam exchange, Rachel teaches classes in a variety of media and helps young people become art leaders in their community. Rachel holds a BFA in painting and art education from Murray State University in Murray, KY. She has taught papermaking, printmaking, painting, mural painting, and bookbinding workshops in Louisville, North Carolina, Los Angeles, Mexico, and Belize. Rachel completed the 2-year Core Fellowship at Penland School of Crafts in North Carolina in 2014 and was a recipient of the Center for Craft Creativity and Design's Windgate Fellowship in 2011 and the Windgate Project Grant in 2016. Her work has been shown at national and international art venues, including the Penland School of Crafts in NC, Todd Art Gallery in TN, and the Whatcom Museum in Bellingham, WA.
